I first started this blog as a way keep myself accountable to cooking thrifty and healthy. After telling two friends about the blog, it’s mission, and the ideas I had for various posts, they became as excited as I am about having a Thrift Kitchen. It has turned into a collaborative project of friends with the goal of sharing ideas, knowledge, and recipes for cooking well on a meager budget. We are all on a tight budget and we all love cooking with good food. Mostly vegetarian with some local meats in the mix is the foundation of our cooking styles.
I want to share with you my adventures in the kitchen. Keeping it thrifty and healthy and tasty are the main goals. I’ll share recipes and tips, prices on produce, coupons, meal plans, and of course, lots of pictures!
My hope is that by starting this blog, we will all be inspired to take pride in our thrift kitchens, that we’ll stay excited about the challenge of creating good meals on a meager budget, and stay dedicated to not eating out or eating ramen every day (just every once and awhile).
I will be posting three times a week. Sunday, Wednesday, and an odd day in. So I’ll see you on Wednesday!
Susie and Laura, the two other fine Thrift Kitchen hosts, will be posting as available to. There are many good plans already taking shape for Thrift Kitchen and it will only be a short matter of time before we are able to share them with you.
We will all be introducing ourselves in official Introducing posts over the next few weeks.
